Yo: kids are fat. And no, I don't mean there's a random chubby kid here and there. I mean FAT! Your eight year old should not weigh 125 pounds, unless that eight year old is 5'3. I have someone very near and dear to my heart, and her daughter is obese. The doctor put her on a diet, and I asked her a couple of weeks ago how she was doing? The response I received was, "Eating everything in sight." Uh, why are you giving it to her/allowing her to have it. A child will eat junk all day if you let him.
This is something that one of my fellow bloggers as well as real-life friends posted in their blog. This little blurb hit home all facts pending on I was a rather portly child and even as an adult I'm not the smallest person. When I was in the fifth grade I tipped the scales at 5'2" and 145lbs. Right now I'm 6'1" and 259. I've gained more muscle over the years and adding a little less than a foot has dispersed the extra hundred pounds over a larger frame. The problem is since I was a fat kid I was subject to an abundance of teasing. This has left me a fractured grown-up with self-esteem about as high George W.'s iq. I am the largest of all of my friends back home and while I may be the most powerful, I'm the one with the least muscle defintion. Now not to get it twisted I outweigh everyone on my block as well so their body fat percentage may be a little different than mine but I don't care. I obsess over my physical development.
I've taken muscle building supplements and I am currently on a fat burner while working out 5 times a week which is about to go up to 7. When I was younger food was my friend. It was the only one that wouldn't talk about me to my face or behind my back. Now food is the enemy as I make sure I don't ingest more than 2000 calories a day I drink a little more than what is equivalent to a 2-liter of water a day. I've been told that I'm an attractive man, but I just don't see it. As far as I'm concerned I'm still heavily flawed and the best thing about me, my brain, is something that can't be shown off by wearing the right outfit.

The Unknown
Revered Joseph Simmons: "On September 26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons for some unknown reason chose to come early and unfortunately did not survive. We must accept whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything is beautiful. Every pain has a purifying effect. So whatever comes your way, just be thankful. We see life in death and believe in the celebration of
life in death."
This is what was said after a man's, daugther's death. I believe I look at death in such a negative way. Death is the only topic that I choose not to discuss because it actually frightens me. The uncertainty. I just don't know what will happen. I look around and see everyone that's important to me and think that one day they or I will be around no longer. That sucks. I look at my nephews, my parents, my fiance, my sisters, my friends and I'm like, "Dammit!" Sometimes I wonder, "What's the point?" I mean really, I don't forsake life, but to have these bonds established just to be taken away. One day I hope that I may have the clarity that has been granted to Joseph Simmons, so that I will no longer fear the unknown.

The color of success
Generally speaking, the only people who hold back blacks in today's society are black people themselves. The whole concept of "acting white" is absurd -- stupidity and vulgarity are not the sole province of blacks, just as classiness and intelligence are not the sole province of whites. Ghetto behavior is universal and to believe otherwise is to limit one's own potential. The jealousy and complacency that exists in this generation of black folk is not present in any other race hence the in-fighting, killing, subversion that is so rampant today.
We are more willing to support everyone else before ourselves, with this being said, that doesn't mean that something should be supported just because it's "black" i.e. the new Morris Chestnut movie, Tyler Perry "stage play," or Omar Tyree book. But when something of quality produced by blacks comes along, it should be supported and not strangled to ensure that no one gets rich before anyone else does.
Why is there no sense of competition? For example, if Jamal Doe sees Malcolm driving a car and in lieu stealing the car, Jamal works and gets his own after seeing that the attaininment of some things is possible?
I was onced asked by a friend of mine if I ever felt like "my people" were holding me back and responded by saying, "Yes, there aren't too many blacks that want to see other blacks succeed. It's not a matter of doing as well as the next man and getting what he has, it's a matter of doing in the next man and getting what he has." Why is that? While on one hand I firmly believe that the only person that can ever stop a person from succeeding is that person but why do other people of the same color have to make things harder?

The killer wore a rosary
For those that don't know me, this will be another blog that is much outside the realm of humor I always seem to dwell in.
I'm not a resident of New Orleans. I'm from Harvey which is about 10 miles southwest of the city, with that being said in my viewing of the Spike Lee documentary just about everytime it's come on I've noticed some things. New Orleans has some of the most religious people I've ever come across. You'll never meet more people that will respond to question, "How are you?" with a smile and, "I'm blessed." This religious nature extends down from the older folks down to the youngsters. Now here is where it gets oxymoronic. Everyone knows that there is a lot of killing going on in the fair city of New Orleans, but with that being said how many of those killing or killed were wearing rosaries, had Bible scriptures, praying hand, crosses, and Jesus tattooed on them? These are also individuals that were more than likely baptized Catholic and attended one of the many Catholic schools at least for the first part of their life. I guess my question is, "Why?" I'll admit that I'm not free from sin, but I'd like to know exactly what makes a person never take off their rosary, get a Jesus tattoo, or anything I've already mentioned and then go "work the block" or kill someone? The thugs that are so reviled can also more likely than not sit down and have a conversation with you about religion based on their attending Parochial schools early in life. What causes the change from devout Catholic to criminal? It has been noted that there is nothing for so many to work towards in New Orleans and with that being said that leads to a high dropout rate, more crime, etc., but this doesn't explain the awareness of a higher being in those who "do wrong." The good is there but it's overshadowed by the bad, why?

Good Ol' Texas
http://forums.chron.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?nav=messages&tsn=1&tid=350&webtag=hc-houston
This link goes to 15 pages of Houstonians complaining about the presence of Katrina Evacuees in Texas. I'm sorry, the last time I checked Texas was a part of the United States and hadn't seceeded from the union by default declaring itself an independent country. Let's get this straight, no one that evacuated from New Orleans decided, "Hey, I don't want to live in Louisiana anymore, I'd much rather be bused to a state full of redneck, ignorant bastards, who are proud of being the home of a president with an iq of 12. My lease at my apartment can't be up quickly enough. Now, I'll use the intellect that I acquired in the Louisiana public school system to dissect some comments that I've come across:
Yes, the kids will suffer in the short run when we kick their free loading parent off welfare. Hopefuly the kids will see that milking the system is not the way to go and will get an education. They have more oppurtunities here than they ever had in La. Maybe this is the one in a lifetime chance to turn a whole generation around before it's to late.
--jlv74
--I'm not quite sure who jlv74 but it is obvious that he or she isn't a Rhodes Scholar. Just like our kids will "...suffer...", after working in the school system in Houston, I know that the kids of Houston are suffering. They are nothing but a bunch of stupid ass, want to be thugs, that lack identity. Hence the gang problems that aren't present in New Orleans.
I heard a interview clip played several times today on KTRH. Paraphrased, the gentlemen from New Orleans said that if they quit paying his rent and utilities, he won't have money for a place to stay. If they cut off his money he's going to have to "get his hustle on" (that was translated as doing whatever shady or even crooked thing it takes to get by). He also said it wasn't just him, it was thousands of people who are going to "get their hustle on, right up here in Houston" If I say to you, "If I don't get government money to take care of myself without holding a job, I am going to steal it from you. or scam it from you, or beat it of you - whatever it takes to get what I need", what would you, what could you do? That's just what that ungrateful, lazy, "gentleman" said into a microphone
--Thistle38
--To hustle isn't necessarily illegal. I have a friend that was a hustler back in New Orleans. She cleaned hotel rooms, worked in a bank, did all kinds of odd jobs to make ends meet so her kids would have food, clothes, and shelter. Hustling conjures up negative connotations kind of like Texans conjure up losers. I'm not talking about the football team.
That Nagin guy is an example of ignorant mentality, he sticks his foot in his mouth each time he speaks. To call a community "chocolate city" is not impressive to anyone, it's sounds bethunish.
--Oliviarw
--Our mayor is ignorant, but your president is a dumbass. Bush doesn't stick he foot in his mouth, he sticks his head up his ass. The term "Chocolate City" was mentioned due to the lack of color following the storm. When the exodus took place it only showed blacks. When they showed "refugees" they were all black. When they showed the city and those rebuilding, they only showed whites. It made it seem as if the city had kicked them out. He was reassuring them a place, once everything was taken care of. Oh yeah, it's buffoonish not bethuish.
When you have never worked the only job they are qualified for is watching TV. Don't pay much, just what it's worth. Need to start teaching them job skills, sweeping the streets, picking up trash etc.........
--Barny
--Exactly what job are those in Houston qualified for--public whiners and bitchers. That's all they do.
Oh yeah, was there crime prior to 8/29/05 or was Houston just the basian of peace and Christianity. With the influx of 200,000 you'll always have an increase in crime especially when the natives are ignorant and intolerant.

The great state of....

All together now, everyone, "FUCK YOU TEXAS!!!!"
In the latest poll published in the "Great state of Texas", 69% of poor evacuees are supposed to be staying in Texas. This is something that has been published in the Houston Chronicle. According to some study done most of the people that evacuated due to Katrina are still unemployed. Is this due to the assholes that won't hire people from Louisiana or due to the fact that those from Louisiana, I'm pretty sure it isn't the latter. Now I find a few issues with this study, it polled a little more than 1,000 people. I'm sorry, but I think there are more than 1,000 people from Louisiana residing in the shit hole know as Houston.
Taking this poll of "impoverished" people who plan to stay in Texas and saying they count for all of the Katrina evacuees is like walking down to the beach, getting a glass of clear ocean water and coming to the conclusion that no fish live in the sea due to your sample. To put it simply, this study is stupid. Anyone who believes it is stupid. A lot of Texans are fucking stupid. And wouldn't you know it, in an article about unemployment and other blights on the city of Houston, they found a way to stick this in,
Tensions about crime
The survey results are released today as tension about evacuee-related crime has led to calls for evacuees to be sent packing. In late August, more than 1,700 westside residents attended a session with Mayor Bill White and Police Chief Harold Hurtt, who announced formation of a 140-officer unit to combat crime in evacuee-filled neighborhoods there.
Police report that 59 of the 262 Houston murders between Jan. 1 and Aug. 26 involved Katrina evacuees as victims or suspects.
White spokesman Frank Michel warned Thursday that it is "unfair to judge the many by the conduct of the few" but reiterated the mayor's assertion that housing for criminals would be provided in jail.
"We've got to point out that we got between 200,000 and 300,000 evacuees," Michel said, "and apparently 130,000 to 150,000 remain. We got a cross-section — everybody from the boardroom to the guy who cleans the boardroom. People with work histories found jobs, transferred jobs and moved businesses. Yes, there are some people who may not match the market here and a number who are retired. ... Our challenge is to lift those in the lower circumstances."
I've applied for several jobs in this state, a bunch of them required nothing more than a high school diploma. I was passed over. I was passed over by HPD and was told that I had to lose 60 pounds in a month. I can count the number of people that I've come across in Texas that I've felt were smarter than I am on one hand and one finger. 1, there is one smart Texan that I've met. You know what, to put it lightly, I feel like my iq is dropping just by staying here longer. How is it that a state can be proud of having the dumbest president in history? I've taken a poll, since I've come across mostly drug users, gang members, dumb people, would it be accurate to say that 93% of those in the greater Houston area are dumb mother fuckers? I'll wrap this up now, this is enough ranting about these bastards.

If I think like this sober, I'd hate to see me drunk.
If crack didn't have all of those pesky side effects it would serve as the perfect weight loss stimulant.
If steroids didn't have all of those pesky side effects they would serve as the perfect weight gainer.
If it weren't for those pesky rabies, bats would be the perfect pest elminator, I mean you never have to feed it. Oh yeah, I forgot about there toxic poop.
If it weren't for their size, wouldn't an elephant make a great pet?
If it weren't for the fear of being eaten, wouldn't a lion, tiger, and bear make the best guard animals at your house?
Are people more afraid of being eaten by animals or being pooped out?
I wonder if people that jump off buildings to committ suicide ever regret their decision on the way down.
In this day and age of global warming, air pollution, and over populated areas, you could theoretically kill your neighbors and cite your reasoning as preservation of species.
I really have too much time on my hand.

Puppet Master
Now, it's no secret that I'm not a big fan of Oprah Winfrey, but I must say she is the most powerful woman in the world and also the most talented ventriloquist walking the face of the Earth. Why do I think so? She has managed to not only control the voice and movements of a 150 year old puppet (she can't move the body too much because it might fall apart), but she manages to have the puppet recite poetry. Oprah then buys the rights to this poetry and gives the money back to herself. How do I know that the woman I'm speaking about is a puppet? Well, how often do you see her stand? How often is someone not standing beside her with one hand missing? What else would explain this look:

No real meaning

This is something that I should paraphrase and say to all of my friends because I know not whether I will ever see them again. I know I'll talk to them on the phone from time to time, but seeing is something completely different. I miss my folk. I miss being around everyone. I miss smiles, jokes, attitudes. I guess that's one of the reasons I'm going home. It has been said many times before that "...home is where the heart is...", but my heart is back on Birchfield. It's hard to make a home in a place that doesn't want you there. So I shall go, but on my own terms. To those who have been a great help I say thank you, and to those that condemned me to failure, ostracized me, and stereotyped me along with so many others from MY HOME LOUISIANA, I say, "It's o.k." It's o.k. to be so narrow-minded that you don't know what harm you're doing to innoncent. It's o.k. to be so ignorant that you don't take the time to learn about an individual or a group of individuals before you charge them. It's o.k. that you dislike not because I've done something to you, but because of where I'm from. It's o.k. because God said that he would spare the babies and the fools and you are truly the latter. Have a nice day.
--But this same day
Must end that work the ides of March begun;
And whether we shall meet again I know not.
Therefore our everlasting farewell take:
For ever, and for ever, farewell, Cassius!
If we do meet again, why, we shall smile;
If not, why then, this parting was well made.

Worn Out Welcome
Citizens grill Mayor, HPD Chief over crime
10:43 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 30, 2006
By Jeff McShan / 11 News
Two young adults, one male, one female, walked into the Wal-Mart on Highway 6, to use a credit card owned by Jeannette Gonzalez, 23, who died Monday as the result of a suspected carjacking.
KHOU-TV
Speaker after speaker voiced concerns over the crime in the west side of Houston, caused mainly, they think, by Katrina evacuees.
She was carjacked in the parking lot of the Hong Kong Market Sunday and a short while later she was either pushed out or jumped out of her car on Westheimer near Kirkwood.
She died from severe head injuries the next day.
The horrible crime is just the latest in a series of violent crimes on the city’s west side.
A standing-room only crowd of over 1,600 filled Grace Presbyterian Church at a town hall meeting to hear Mayor Bill White and HPD Chief Harold Hurtt speak.
“It’s really important for us to see this many people out here because it gives us a clear message that you care about your community and the fact that you want us to do more to make it safer. And we get that message,” Hurtt said.
The crowd was mostly calm until questions about Katrina evacuees came up.
“We just want you to understand our situation in this community and we appreciate the good work and the hard work that you’ve done, but we want the New Orleans residents to go home,” said one speaker.
“We can’t walk to a beautiful park that was put in without being accosted. I want to know what you’re going to do about it or do we have to take things into our own hands?” said another woman.
Before the meeting, it didn’t take long to find some criminal activity. One man, who police said had just gotten out of prison, was arrested about two miles from the meeting.
Constable Glen Chicas committed 140 of his men and women to this area of town alone, and in the last days they have written 377 citations and dozens of arrests.
The residents in the area believe that the Katrina evacuees are doing the crime in the area and they asked when the handout were going to stop.
When Mayor White said they would be phased out in February, he received boos from the crowd.
Being one of those individuals whose citizenship was washed away with so many others' along with their memories (hence the term "Katrina Refugees), it seems to me as though we've worn out our welcome. The question I would like to ask is, "Was there crime in Houston before 8/29/05?" If there wasn't, then you have to directly link any crime to an influx of "Louisiana-folk" and if there was, then what? I believe that any increase in crime would have taken place no matter where the people came from. It's just the sad reality of the world.
I know that I post a lot about 8/29/05, but it is just something that consumes my life since it affected me. I know the easiest way to get over something is not to constantly bring it up but...

My thoughts.
One must take this time to really sit down and think, "Is it wet underwater or is the surface of water what really wets you?" If there was someway to get into water without going through the surface would you still get wet? Hmmmmmm. I mean you can't really answer this question because you'll always have to go through a surface of water. My wonderful mind.
What if dogs, cats, and other animals know how to talk and they just choose not to. There are people that choose to be mutes, why can't animals do the same? It's been shown that we can "teach" them all kinds of things, so why can't they learn something on their own? I think entirely too much.
Are animals really at the top of the food chain? I mean there are things that eat humans; lions, tigers, bears, sharks, alligators, crocodiles, snakes. I mean while humans have developed the ability to create tools, does this mean no one or rather nothing else has? Humans are the slowest and weakest of all those things I just named. I know I can't outrun most of those things nor outswim them, but my bullets in my .45acp can. Ahhh, I love being a human.
Have you ever passed someone that stank and wondered if they smelled themselves?
Have you ever seen someone and felt sorry for their toilet and toilet seat?
God I think a lot.

variety of spontaneity
The other day for no reason at all, I thought back to a conversation I had with my father some years back. I asked him what would he die for, his response, "...my family and freedom..." It took me some time to actually think about it. Freedom. Freedom. That's a word that's just thrown about like it's nothing. I guess since I was born into a time that freedom was no longer something that was being fought so fervently for I don't know his struggles. I don't know about seeing "Whites Only" signs or staying up at night to make sure the Ku Klux Klan doesn't come to burn down the house. It wasn't so much that he'd die for the freedom of night being a slave or anything of that nature as much as he'd die for the freedom to live.
At this point in my life I am so sick of Texas living that I'm ready to walk back to Louisiana, the problem is that I have just a little bit too much pride. I can't go back home because I'll feel as though I've failed at being on my own. "I couldn't make it in Texas so I tucked my tail and ran back home to Louisiana." That's that bullshit.
I miss Louisiana on a daily basis. I miss how people would speak, I miss the accents, the slang, the hospitality, the way no matter where you went there was always a Mr. John except his name was pronounced a little different. Everybody knew their grandparents and their address. The Greater New Orleans Metro Area was a place where you couldn't go too far without bumping into somebody's cousin and you could see your entire family and stop to get a snowball in less than an hour. It's the simple things.
Well, I've been called "The Jack of All Trades" and a "Renaissance Man" and now I can add another moniker to that. Tomorrow I start training to be a butcher, or the PC term of meat cutter.
I don't have anyone to talk to about the stuff that I enjoy. It's crazy because I've been reduced to calling everyone. I'm used to walking to everyone's house and sitting or standing outside and "just shooting the jibba jabba." There is no one in Sugar Land (that I know of) that I can talk to about things that I enjoy and they will say me too. There is no one I can say "Wanna shoot..." to. Therefore I write or rather type. I type to alleviate my desire to discuss things. I'm still looking for that venue on which I can run and jump and shoot and throw and catch. I've grown accustomed to lifting by myself which isn't always the best thing since I've gotten stuck a few times.
I'm still shooting for a 350 bench press max sometime next year. I've got work to do though. I think that's one of my goals in life.
Depression is a son of a bitch. I've been told that I need to talk to a professional about the thoughts I have and the way I feel about my past, but hey if bottling everything up is what works then I'll continue to do so. My anger is my fuel. My depression is my accelerator. I need both of them to keep going. The more I write I'm beginning to enjoy being a person that only vaguely discusses his feelings. Hell, it doesn't make sense to bring it up anyway because not too many people will even understand what I'm talking about.
"I've been working this grave shift and I ain't made shit I wish could buy me a spaceship and fly past the sky"
"You're either slanging crack rock or you got a wicked jumpshot"
I know it's spontaneous but that's how I feel from time to time. What makes those who get their's "the ski mask way" successful? What makes them unsuccessful? The life of a criminal isn't just one that has caught the eye of children, it has also caught the eye of a college graduate, but hey I'm not crazy. I'll keep my gun in the nightstand. Like a police officer once told me, "You know what...you're too smart to go to jail." I'm a beast with the brain.
I know I'm not the only person to make a list of things they'd like to do in life but I wonder how many others want to do such off-the-wall things.
1. Climb a few mountain
2. Drive on the autobahn
3. purchase an exotic car

...
Does one's self-esteem effect the way they trust and view everyone else? The lower the self-esteem the less trust you have for anyone that is presently in or enters your life? How does one go about gaining self-esteem? It isn't really one of those things that you can go have cosmetic surgery for..."I'd like new pecs and oh yeah, while you have that sharp instrument out, see if you can give me a little more self-esteem"

August 9, 2006 a man was robbed at gunpoint in my apartment complex. The only description about the robber was that he was a black male...

O.J. and N.G.
Frustration is the only word that can properly describe how I feel right now. As I sit here and watch Nancy Grace, I'm just completely blown away at how she attacks an individual that was acquitted of all charges. A system that YOU used to work to uphold is flawed based on the fact that ONE person "got away with murder?" To put it simply, you sicken me. How is it that you can champion that American judicial system on one hand, but on the other you constantly charge someone that was judged by a jury of his peers as a murderer? He was acquitted, leave him alone. If he did it, so be it. The system didn't work this one time, but to that I say how many people have been executed, hung, lynched, beaten, and terrorized for things they didn't do? Yet there is no outcry of people charging the system with being flawed. Is this because it worked in their favor? I take this back to Robert Blake, a man that tried to hire someone to kill his wife, yet when he "gets off" nothing. Where is Robert Blake? What is HE doing? Where is HE going? Would it be proper to say that even if you are acquitted in a court of law, that means nothing because you can still be the victim of slander which everyone seems to turn a blind eye to? Whether or not the majority wants to admit it or not, there is still racism in America, overt and blatant. If O.J. was white would he still be in the news? Would he still be a murderer? NO!!! If Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman were black would there have been such an uproar from the white community when O.J. was acquitted? NO!!! To put it simply, the only reason O.J. is still making news is because he's a nigger that "killed" a white woman. With all of this said, it doesn't make me too comfortable that I'm a part of the minority that doesn't get treated properly in this country. God in heaven knows I love being in America, but he or she also knows that America is completely screwed up and needs to take care of home before running to fight anybody's war.

Qana
I was just sitting at my parents' home back in Harvey, LA watching CNN when I looked at the bottom of the screen. Israel staged an attack that killed 60 people by accident. Now I have a few questions:
1) How do you accidentally bomb a city and kill 60 people?
2) Why did Israel say they would stop bombing for 48 hours asthough to say, "Whoops, dude I know we screwed up."
3) Isn't "accidentally" killing 60 people and then basically saying "Whoops!" kinda like a midget version of Kobe Bryant kicking Shaquille O'Neal in the balls and then saying, "Oh, my bad dude." and trying to walk off before he hits back.
4) With the Prime Minister Fouad Siniora of Lebanon calling off his meeting with Condoleeza Rice, does that mean the US is no longer fighting this battle by proxy?
5) While the rest of the world condemns the actions of Israel, don't you just know that George W. is sitting in the White House with a big smile on his face saying, we finally got those mother fuckers?
With all of this being said, I don't think there will be any peace in the Middle East for a long, long, long time.

A little about me.
Hello all. My name is Lenard but I've adopted the screenname of Lennox (Len-ox) from an old nicknamed that I picked up in college. Yes, I'm a Louisiana resident that went to college and get this, I graduated. I am the youngest of and biggest of three children. I have 2 older sisters. I have a BA in Communications from the University of New Orleans. I am having problems finding gainful employment under the Bush presidency. All of the knowledge and talent in the world won't get you crap, but I digress. I'm a registered independent. I have several views on several things. I am a Renaissance Man and the "Angry Black Man of the New Millenium." I am not a racist or a seperatist. I am angry about the way things take place in this country and the way people hand certain events. I am open to all comments and all criticism. I am far from typical and will not hesitate to verbally draw and quarter anyone who I feel attacks me. With all of the serious stuff out of the way, I'm a big joker. I like Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Scrubs, and a bunch of other shows that will make me laugh. As I type this, I'm watching Inked, that tattoo show on A&E, I think it's time for me to get some more tattoos. I love to smile and love to make others feel good. (The angry side doesn't come out unless provoked kinda like Bruce Banner.) I'm a vodka drinking, weight lifting, sarcastic, well-dressed (when necessary) good cooking, "Katrina Refugee" (I hate that term) with a great deal of intelligence. Well that's enough about me. If you want to know anything else send me a message. Stay classy Blogger.
Wednesday's Thoughts
I was having a discussion earlier today with my uncle about Andrea Yates and her being acquitted of the charges of murder. He brought it to my attention that the system that I'd bashed in my last post worked. If you felt that she was guilty, then you should have been satisfied with the first verdict. GUILTY!!! If you thought she was innoncent, then the system worked because she was able to appeal and got off. With this being said no one should have too much about the whole Andrea Yates trial, and needless to say yet another trial that isn't important to anyone besides the defendant and their family no longer "grips the nation."
Why is it that the only people that turn up on Nancy Grace and the nightly news are pretty, young, caucasian females? If I were to go missing today, no one outside of my family would be the wiser until my mutilated body turned up in some river or something. Truth be told, I don't care about Natalee Holloway. You have to hang some of the blame on her for wandering away from her friends in a foreign nation with some dudes she doesn't know. Americans have a problem with going to other countries and feeling like they are superior and everyone must adhere to laws of the U.S. The U.S. government doesn't care if you go to some foreign nation and get stranded, hell they couldn't rescue people from rooftops in the 9th ward. Go USA!!!
In the U.S. we have a democracy, with that being said we have the freedom to say whatever we want. We also have the freedom to feel/think any way we want to. With all this being said, why are so many people drawn and quartered with they don't agree with the politics surrounding some actions? It has gotten to the point that you are a traitor if you don't support "Operation Enduring Freedom." I mean think about it, prior to the last election when were two purple heart awarded to a coward that volunteered to go to war in lieu of hiding somewhere in Alabama? Needless to say I'm against the war, I'm against Bush, and if you consider me unpatriotic I have some ocean-front property for sale in Houston, TX.
Are you who you are because your parents are who they were? I'm not talking about race or anything like that. Are you republican or democrat because your parents are or were? Are you a baptist or catholic because your parents are or were? If you are, grow a damn spine.
Have a nice day.
